Secret Foodies & Al Carbón Party

Boo! Guess who? This was my get-up for a particular post-Halloween Day of the Dead party I attended last week. I've mentioned before that I work at an events agency, Secret Foodies. We throw underground dining events - pop-up dinners which happens in secret locations. This particular one was our Día de los Muertos, a pop-up warehouse party for Day of the Dead.

We had our partners Al Carbón, who are Sydney's newest food truck on the road, on board. Their truck was parked and set up Transformers-style in the parking lot of the warehouse, serving legit Mexican street food all night. There were tacos filled with various meats from the open-flame grill and fresh toppings ands condiments, soft and cheesy quesadillas, chargrilled chicken wings with a delicious fiery sauce and tangy pickled vegetables. The pop-up bar provided the social lubrication, with Coronas, margaritas, homemade sangria and of course, tequila.

Guests received a text message one hour before the event began, with directions to the secret location of the event. They made their way to a random warehouse lot in St Peters to turn the corner and find Mexican decorations everywhere, marquees, music from a live mariachi band, face painting, a bar and giant Mexican food truck. With costumes, music, eating, drinking and dancing, we partied late into the night.
